Toolkit series · episode 12

Four practices, one workspace

CustomCoach is modular on purpose. Enterprise L&D, a boutique executive practice, healthcare OD and outplacement can share an engine and look like four different products.

For: Anyone comparing coaching platforms by the job, not the feature grid

Worked example: Acme Aspire, Harbourlight, Ashdown Compass, Waypoint Career Transitions — all fictional demo contexts.

Fictional composite for illustration. No real client data.

Walkthrough

Four workspaces, four brands, four stories. The modules that are on, the instruments that are activated, and the language on the walls change. The engine does not.

  1. 1 · Acme Aspire — internal L&D

A named leadership programme, two coaches, a cohort, reports a People director can read. GAS and Mini 360 live here. Messaging and audit on Enterprise.

    • The buyer is not the coach. The buyer is Talent.
    • Programme progress (Discovery through Closure) is for the coachee, not for theatre.
  2. 2 · Harbourlight — boutique practice

One principal, an associate, clients from different companies. The platform is the practice’s branded experience. Journal and messaging do the intimacy. White-label is the point.

    • These buyers have been sold CRMs. They wanted a client experience.
    • Portal links for sponsors matter more than a shopfront.
  3. 3 · Ashdown Compass — healthcare OD

Structured cohort, wellbeing instruments, defensible notes, Civil Service or in-house competency language. Audit trail for a regulated environment.

    • They will ask where the data lives. The trust page has to be boring and true.
    • They will not adopt a US wellness app’s vocabulary.
  4. 4 · Waypoint — outplacement

Time-boxed engagements, Future Design, values sort, self-efficacy waves, a close that includes a new role. Referrals from employers, not from Instagram.

    • The clock is the product. Programmes that do not end well are a procurement risk.
    • This is where Future Design earns its keep.

Three insights

1

White-label is methodology in their colours

A logo on a generic CRM is not white-label. Modules, instruments and language that match the practice are.

2

Professional is the toolkit wedge

The 14-day trial sits on Professional because that is where scored instruments and interactive programmes live. Essentials is the CRM. Do not demo Essentials to a Head of Talent.

3

Enterprise is for programmes

Messaging, admin, audit, the full 31-instrument toolkit. Buy it when more than one coach and a People team have to see the same record.

12-minute demo, not a workshop

  2. 3+6m
