360 on the engagement

Full, Mini, Upward or Peer 360 cycles, linked to the coaching engagement. Status and response counts sit on the client overview. Deep collection and reporting happen in Portraits.

For: Heads of Talent and programme leads

Worked example: Sarah Chen, Aspire. Mini 360 mid-programme.

Fictional composite for illustration. No real client data.

Walkthrough

Daniel links a Mini 360 to Sarah’s engagement. The overview shows collecting vs reported, and how many responses have landed. When he needs rater groups, anonymity rules and the narrative report, he opens Portraits. The coaching record stays the home.

  1. 1 · Pick a cycle type

Full 360 (self, manager, peers, reports), Mini, Upward, or Peer only. Type is a design choice, not a default.

    • Mini is usually enough mid-programme. Full belongs near a promotion decision.
    • Peer-only is Johari’s heavier cousin, not a shortcut to Full.
  2. 2 · Live on the overview

Status, counts, report-ready. Session 4 and the 360 are on the same page so the programme does not fork.

    • A 360 that lives in another login will be forgotten by session 6.
    • Unlink if you attached the wrong cycle. Unlink does not delete Portraits data.
  3. 3 · Open in Portraits for the deep work

Adding raters, provider rules, anonymity, the written report. CustomCoach does not pretend to be a 360 suite. It keeps the cycle on the engagement.

    • Creating a cycle without pasting an ID is the next product step.
    • Until then, the honest hop is better than a fake all-in-one.

Three insights

1

360 is part of the coaching, or it is a survey

If the cycle cannot be seen next to session notes, it will be reported once and never used.

2

Type is a design decision

Full is expensive in goodwill. Mini and Upward exist because not every engagement can spend that.

3

Two products, one record

Portraits is the 360 engine. CustomCoach is the coaching home. The overview panel is the join, not a reimplementation.

  1. 0+10m

    Choose the type

Full, Mini, Upward, Peer. Write down why.

  2. 10+10m

    Name the raters

Who, and what anonymity they were promised.

  3. 20+10m

    Place it on the arc

Which session reads the report. Do not dump it in week one or on the last day.
